I have the crash problem with OpenCL on every revision. I use x64 versions specs in sig. Do I have to overwrite OpenCL drivers when using every revision?
Yeh, the ATI installers are not that robust. I had OpenCL working great when I was using the OpenCL Stream SDK 2.1 and Catalyst 10.5. After doing an upgrade overwriting it with Stream SDK 2.2 and Catalyst 10.7b, OpenCL stopped working. I have to get around to reinstalling the ATI drivers again.
As of the 10.10 driver there is a end user package of OpenCL now from AMD in stead of it just being available on their developers site.
Its called "AMD Catalystâ„¢ Accelerated Parallel Processing (APP) Technology Edition" and its on the same page as the regular driver.
Its the same package of CCC+driver, but just it includes the OpenCl driver too.
Surprised it took them this long to finalize it.
i don't really get it..to me the only options in the whole emulator that can change performances are "copy EFB to texture" and changing compiler (JIT or JITTIL). Every other option changes exactly 0 fps. Is that normal?
Depending on the games you're playing and if your PC is strong enough, changing options will not slow you down.
sure, i just was expecting a performance boost using openCL since my vga is surely powerful. It's like...opencl does nothing! Maybe i could be wrong, i tried many games but zero fps increase it's like nothing to me.
You're right, OpenCL is not really doing anything.
so whats opencl really doing, i mean its function or why it was implemented in dolphin?
It was implemented hoping that it would speed things up...
But it doesn't seem to help much if anything.
oh well at least its another option to try with different games
