Quote:Both OSes get support for the visual profiler, and any CUDA-capable GPU is an OpenCL compatible one, from G80 all the way up, and including Tesla T10-powered hardware in the compute space too.

Huh

I don't think geforce 8000 series supports OpenCL under windows OS, there are specific drivers for Mac os X and perhaps Linux. All 9000+ series and up support OpenCL in windows though.

CUDA works though but dolphin wont benefit from that.

To be absolutely sure, in your position I'd download the 197.45 forceware drivers from nvidia for your card. If GPU-z still wont show support for OpenCL in the checkbox then it just wont work.

And I wouldn't buy newer gpu just for OpenCL. It does not significantly boost dolphin speeds at this time.
My 8500 GT supports OpenCL , and It worked fine until a rev broke it ( I don't know what rev )

Thx, then it must be dolphin related, not nvidia problem or a driver issue. Maybe the people who don't have openCL support on 8000+ just haven't upgraded to a recent forceware.
It's rev 5808 ( at least for me), It crashes when dolphin tries to call clGetPlatformIDs()
Still crashing with 5848.
Fix it plz?
The dolphin core is fine, looks like the OpenCL problem comes from the Video plugins, both OpenGL and DX, I've tested many of them(from many previous SVN) with the latest build(5875) and Xtreme(5847), and the plugin that worked fine is from 5805. That means if i want to enable OpenCL in any SVN from 5807(and maybe 5806) to recent SVN, i'll have to use the 5805 video plugins. Using the plug-in from 5847 to 5875 crash dolphin before OpenCL could be loaded. While using the plugin of SVN 5807 crashes dolphin after OpenCL is loaded. Can any1 check what's happening?

#Edit: the 5807 i had downloaded is not the Original SVN 5807, so i downloaded SVN 5807 again, and this time, it works fine with OpenCL enabled. So that meant there's some changed in SVN 5808 plugins that crashes dolphin
I was using Dolphin r5790 OCL x86 and it worked great with Open CL enabled on my nvidia GTX 470. I tried using new builts of Dolphin (5875, etc.) and they would all crash when OpenCL is enabled. But when I use built 5790, OpenCL works great, so it is not a problem with my graphics card driver. Could someone please look into this?

Just to confirm some of the above, I have been trying to get open CL to work on both my Pc's and it has not worked in version 5815, 5818, 5846, or 5875 until reverting back to the 5805 version as suggested above. works well now and I do some speed increase on Mario Kart Wii.
just compiled those videos plugins(r5879 for 32-bit only), any1 have probs with OpenCL mind giving it a try? btw remember to scan for virus, i'm not sure my PC is cleaned.
