hey guys...i have a new pc using windows 10 home and i rediscovered the emulation section for me these days so i decided to try emulation on my new pc...at first it was great...everything was nice..the emulator started, the games run smoothly and so on...but after starting the game my pc is only able to play games on dolphin..i mean i can do other things but everything out of the game is running extremely slow..for example its not possible to open some file without a long waiting time..first when i click on something iit looks like nothing is going to happen but after about 8 - 15 seconds..it opens..and even if i close the emulator it wont help..after a single time opening a game nothing else instead of playing on dolphin is possible on my pc without long waiting times...just as if the pc is still stuck in emulation mode or so..or some process is still running in the background...

the problem is fixed when i restart my computer...but i dont want to constantly restart my computer

..now i ask you..can you please help me find a solution to this...or is there no one out there who even heard about it...i was searching google for hours but didnt find anything like this.
Get the latest dev build of Dolphin (4.0-9083 as of writing) and get rid of Dolphin 4.0 stable
Check your PC temp with realtemp when you run Dolphin
The only thing I can think of is overheating . Did your CPU seat properly ? Did you apply thermal paste properly ?
When you run Dolphin , Dolphin will use 2 cores of your CPU to the max and if it overheats , it will throttle down and your PC will become slower (Thermal Status = Log)
Other issue is your faulty HDD but I doubt it . Anyway, you should check it with "crystaldiskmark" benchmark tool just in case your HDD might be the cause
What kind of anti-virus software do you have installed? Is this issue "fixed" if you disable your anti-virus software?
first of all...thank you for spending time to advise me....but

a) its not the build that causes the issue ...ive tryed many different builds with no change
b) my new pc has more than enough power for emulation (30-40% cpu usage no matter which game i play), there is no doubt...even my old laptop with much lower performance can emulate many games smoothly  with only 40-50% cpu usage + you forget that even when i close the game and the emulator, my pc is still as slow as after starting the game and wont regain its usual speed until i reboot..just makes no sense
c) i deleted my anti virus programm and never used such software cause anti virus software slows down the pc and is just a marketing scam for anxious people...and guess what..i never had problems or the feeling i need one.

no need for help anymore..i fixed the problem yesterday evening..after i changed the graphic settings from direct 3d11 to direct 3d9...the problem didnt come up anymore...never thought its that easy

nevertheless i think windows 10 which is on my new pc is still a problem cause 30 - 40% of cpu usage is still very high for such high performance...and win 10 eats a lot of cpu when playing other games than on dolphin..so i was thinking about changing my os to window 8 or 7...do you think its a good idea?

and can you recommend the use of an unstable dolphin build..what are the benefits?

Lots of bug fixes, better stability, better performance, better accuracy, more features... If you want a more exhaustive list of what's new, you can read the progress reports on the Dolphin blog.

_Dolphin 4.0 Stable was made 2 years ago and no one should use it . It's buggy as hell compared to the latest Dolphin
_You are using Windows 10 but you don't want to use the latest Dolphin , right ? You don't want to use the new Direct3D12 at all ? Direct3D12 uses less resource than any other backend since it's low level api and it's the fastest backend right now (up to 50% faster than Direct3D11 ).
Bad idea to use an old build. D3D9 wasn't removed for no reason; developers didn't make changes for no reason either. You're missing out on thousands of changes, including performance improvements, bug fixes, new features which reduce the hardware requirements and improved accuracy.

ok but do you think i can use direct 3d12 if my new pc freezes after using direct 3d11...even my old pc can use direct 3d11 with no probs so it cant be the graphics card...do i need the 3d11 runtime on my new one to be able to use it or is it just not going to work on my new pc cause windows 10 is buggy...sry but i just cant make sense of my situation...nevertheless i will try the latest dolphin build as i mentioned above, even though i might get freezing with direct 3d12...

yes i know but if your pc freezes already everytime you use 3d11...i guess you would do the same...btw. is it normal for dolphin 4.0 stable that i can only choose between 3d9 and 3d11? or does it depend on the direct x runtime installed if i can adjust other 3ds in dolphin under graphic options?
I wouldn't, I would check what's wrong with my PC. It sounds like you have something wrong with your drivers; freezing is not normal at all and indicates serious problems with your OS or your hardware.

And yes, you won't find DX12 in 4.0.2 because DX12 was added after it.
