Dolphin generally only works well with official Wii Remotes.

Yes, if you have a working Wii Remote that you can connect it to.

Unless you can find a way to make it work without connecting it to the wiimote ...like I did

It's a gamepad converter which is made by Elecom Japan . If you plug Wii Pro Classic or Wii classic controller in it , your controller will be recognized as PC gamepad without any driver or software though it may not work with Wii U Pro, idk
Mayflash made a similar converter but I haven't tried it . So I'm not so sure
Do you think i can use the classic controller if it has a usb onto it and just connect it onto my laptop?
It may work . Some USB classic controllers are made for the Wii U !
