ok, but the problem is that i cant seem to overclock my Quad since my BIOS has locked it or somethin.

I Googled some info, and some people are able to overclock by using software, SetFSB. I looked at the website, and unless if i Read wrong, it seems i cant use that either, unless if someone else knows another software.

Here is some extra info though on CPU, memory, graphics, motherboard, etc. attached.

Anyy suggestions appreciated. Smile
Of course you can...you probably just dont know how. There is lot of guides on the internet you probably should read up before you try anything.
Basically you want to increase fsb speed, you cant increase cpu multiplier ( its locked )
Your fsb speed is 266 increasing this to 333 would give you 3 ghz speed ( your processor multiplier is 9, so 266x9 is 2.4 and 333 x 9 is 3 ghz )
But you also must change memory multiplier make sure memory its not working faster then it should.
If 333 wont work, then try to increase fsb gradually and see how much it can go...for example try in 10 steps...270,280,290 etc...
When you find speed which seems stable, test it with program called prime.Just run it for couple of hours, and if it doesnt find any errors,it means your overclock is stable.
If its stable at 3ghz,there is no reason to not go higher Smile you cant really damage your cpu just by raising clock speeds, you can only damage it by increasing the voltage too much.
That's it...but like I said you should read some more in depth guides
Not true, you can't always overclock, certain BIOS's are restricted. What motherboard do you have bleron?

Software overclocking is extremely unstable and can damage the BIOS causing your computer to not boot. I would recommend against this...

You will need to modify some voltage settings to do this and most software overclocking can't do that because it's not accessable outside the BIOS. and without increasing the voltage, you're not giving the CPU enough power to run at those higher frequencies, which causes lots of weird CPU behavior, hard drive corruption, etc. You can do lots of damage if the CPU doesn't have enough power.
Just to be on topic , buy a 4850 (99$ on newegg) , you wont be disapointed

In speed-No
In Graphics-Yes

Though, there's nothing wrong with getting both Cpu and Gpu.

oh nono!
I got Quad Q6600 2.4 GHz (Overclock 3,2)
I had lots of lag before whit my old graphcard. I did buy a new Radeon-card for 50dollars and now it´s works really great. I can play Mario Kart, Party 8 and dirt at full speed.

Good job whit Dolphin btw!

BIOS is Phoenix Technologies, LTD version 5.07 05/24/2007

*
Manufacturer: Asus
*
Motherboard Name: P5BW-LA
*
HP/Compaq motherboard name: Basswood3G-UL8E

My bios has it restricted, no Bios Update available on HP website, though BiosAgentPlus from Phoenix says there is a update available.

There is no noticeable speed increase when updating from a varry crappy card to just a crappy card.

Very Descriptive btw..
