Upon checking Synaptic Package Manager, it seems I have
libusb-1.0-0 version 2:1.0.17-1ubuntu2
as well as
libusb-0.1-4 version 2:0.1.12-23.3ubuntu1
along with a few other libusb packages installed on my machine. If I attempt to remove any of them aside from libusb-dev, I would need to remove a whole host of programs as well, which I'm rather reluctant to do.
