Im thinking i7-6700k and gtx 950 for 6xIR.
I know the cpu is fine but will the gpu cut it or should i consider 960?
If the 960 cant do it, ill get the 980 ti at that point.

Having a 960 i wouldn't suggest you anything less than that for 4k. It can handle 6x IR but barely, getting 65-80fps in mario kart wii grand prix in windows, using mac things should be slower. So getting an even slower card using an os that has lower performance in dolphin, i don't think it will work out well.
Either you didnt understand my scenario, or im misunderstanding your answer.
I currently have an imac with a 6970m. This runs the mentioned games at 3x no sweat.
im wanting to upgrade to windows 10 with a gtx 950.
The gtx 950 is far better than the 6970m and ill be on windows with it.

You never mentioned what OS you were using, so we assumed you were on iOS since your on an iMac. It is clear now that you are bootcamping Windows.
First of all, you dont use IOS on a mac. Its OS X.

I HAVE AN IMAC. I USE OS X. THE IMAC HAS A 6970M. THIS IMAC RUNS THE GAMES AT 3XIR.
I AM BUILDING A NEW COMPUTER. I WILL USE WINDOWS 10. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THE GTX 950 OR 960 WILL RUN THESE GAMES AT 6XIR.
