I also used to play with software, because of its higher accuracy, but right now I'm enjoying OpenGL hardware even if it's not perfect ^^

Does it matters to choose OpenGL or DirectX when using software? I mean, all graphics computing is done by the CPU without using any DirectX or OpenGL features, right? Does it make any difference?

Stable is for people who think it's stable

Stable versions additionally have profile guided optimizations compared to the normal release builds.

Does it? That's smart. What do the profile guided optimizations do?

Actually, OpenGL is doing very well on my old and weak 2008 MacBook, it's even faster than DirectX9/11 in some areas. I only tested Persona 3. A battle sequence, laggy with D3D, is now pretty smooth. Of course, some OpenGL options are unsupported by my 9400M and graphical glitches appears in some areas where my GTX 770 is fine.

How are you running 1.4.0 on your macbook?  I can't seem to find a recent stable build for macs.  Bootcamp?

Yes, I use BootCamp.
Gnaaa, every one or two years I boot up PCSX2 again and every time I kinda never really get into it. The games always feel kinda wrong, glitchy or performance is bitchy and I the settings/UI is such a hard-to-understand mess.
Obviously, such an emulator is always an incredible work (and I wouldn't write this in the PCSX2 forums Tongue ) and all but Dolphin is just so much more user-friendly and the settings behave in a kinda predictable way, it seems. Or maybe Dolphin with it's really just because I've never let up on it and gotten used to the settings, I dunno...
No dolphin is easier lol.
Honestly the PCSX2 GUI is not so bad, it's even pretty good. Everything is under the config tab. It's just that some duplicates are likely to confuse a new user like Video -> Core GS and Window settings that leads to the Emulation Settings window, and that fact that video options are cut into Plugin Settings and Window settings. New users also may not know how to choose the best video plugin, and why there is a ISO and a Plugin option to load a game.
Most advanced emulation settings options are hard to understand but by default everything is set to the best settings in most cases.
Does anyone know if they fixed the Skylake i7 issue running software mode yet?
It helps if we know what issue you're referring to. Also google and pcsx2 forums are your friend.
