Ok I finally got my Dolphin Bar, I tried it locally and with the Virtualhere windows 10 beta setting. Both works, the beta setting however has a relatively high input lag, which renders some games rather hard to play (Super Mario Galaxy for instance)
I will give the raspberry pi solution a shot later on to see if it improves the lag, the cause of the lag might be the Steam Link, we will see.

I am on a wired connection between the computer and the Steam Link btw.

Ok the Raspberry PI solution works perfectly without Lag on the stable drivers.

I switched then back to the Steam Link only solution and with a vhui64 without the -3 param, it still worked, but the lag was back. So I guess the Steam link is at its limits here.

virtualhere

OK, yeah the steam link is only single core and it seems the dolphin bar sends a data at quite high rates which is complicated to process over IP. So not much i can do on the steamlink to improve performance as its already a highly optimized binary i gave them for the beta. Definately offloading this onto a pi is the way to go until the steam is multi-core
Yes I got also a confirmation from the Steam devs, the hardware is not able to handle the load. Guess we have to live with the Raspi solution until Valve ups up their hardware to multicore.
Not to much of a deal since the PI swallows about 3-5 Watt including the sensor bar.
That's a shame. A bit shortsighted of Steam to put such a weak processor inside, especially considering they are apparently intending to release steam link apps for it.

I am pretty sure they already are working on a rev2 hardware, but thats a personal guess here. At least they are aware that they already have reached some hardware limits.
