Hello guys. I've recently started using Dolphin and wanted to try playing Harvest Moon Magical Melody.
Until now I was fine playing SSBB and had some minor lags with New Super Mario Bros. (on 1080p)
But Harvest Moon repeatedly drops frames even when playing with the (1x) native resolution.
I have tried using different settings but without success. At the moment I'm using the default settings as advised by the Dolphin wiki.
The problem might be my CPU but I can't imagine Harvest Moon being so much more taxing on it than the other games I played up untill now.
So I would like to ask if someone could help me with these performance issues.
I have attached a CPU-Z report with my Specs.
Incase I can provide you with any other information I'd happily do so.
Thanks alot!
Specs Overview:
Operating System: Windows 7 x64
Processor/CPU: Intel Core i5 2500k 4x3.30ghz
Video Card/GPU: Nvidia GTX 970
Memory/RAM: 16GB GSkill
Dolphin Revision Currently Using: 4.0-7161
It would help if you posted your Dolphin graphics config.
I have tried both OpenGL and Direct3D.
Here are some Screenshots of my current options.
Since you have an Nvidia card, you should definitely use OpenGL as your backend. You can also check "Skip EFB Access from CPU." Only a few games need it, and when they do it's enabled through the gameinis. Also, keep in mind that the wiki isn't always up-to-date.
Okay well I changed it but I still get these lags.
At the start only the sound starts to bug out but shortly after I get this really big input lag in which my past actions go on for a little while.
New Settings:
What do you have set in your Config tab?
Input lag isn't really Dolphin most of the time. If you're using real Wiimotes, it's your bluetooth, on other controllers, I don't know.

Here are some screenshots of my config tab. I didn't really mess around with the default settings

Well I'm using an xbox one controller over usb which works fine with all of my other games. It probably isn't any normal input lag and only is there because the game lags alot.
Hey guys,
I'm having the exact same problem with Harvest Moon: Magical Melody. This one however is the GameCube version. I've constantly been adjusting the Graphics Settings and the DSP Settings to try to remove the continuous lags in the game, but that didn't fix it. The audio is very slow and delayed, and the speed of the game is also slow, especially when I move my character.
I've been trying to make it work, as I've really wanted to play as the female character for many years, and the Wii game doesn't provide that option.
If this doesn't work, I also have the Wii version of Harvest Moon: MM. I'm traveling soon and would love to be able to play the game on my laptop. I've searched on YouTube for ways to make this possible (from things like Rawdump and Friidump), but both of them didn't work for me, and I don't know why
Please help! It would be much appreciated
I've attached my settings as well.
To begin with, update to the newest development version and set Framelimit to Auto. You can also check Skip EFB Access from CPU and set Texture Cache Accuracy to Fast. Setting the fullscreen resolution to 512x384 is strange and shouldn't be done, but it shouldn't be causing any slowdowns either.

They only work with a small number of PC DVD drives. A more reliable way to rip games is running CleanRip on a Wii.
