Hello!
im new to the forum and to dolphin Angel
well i've actually tried to read alot so i can get good quality/performance.. but yet im getting some stuttering, drops in fps etc...
my specs:
4790k 4.0 (i actually got a seidon 240m.. but havent oc'd since it runs hot already 60 - 65 on dolphin)
970 GTX
16G ddr3 133mhz (can put them at 1600,etc)
dolphin 4.0-8076 (tried with the stable too)

Im running it with opengl,1920x1080, IRX3, V-sync: on, 4xssaa efb to textures.
Reading the wiki, some games benefit from using efb to ram (mario kart wii, xenoblade, etc).
but when i put efb to ram:on, they run waaaaaay too slow.. is that normal? with my specs? ive tried lowering the AA (it helps a bit)
also in Smario galaxy and xenoblade (without the ultra textures "yet") with efb to textures, i still get some stuttering.. i mention this since i've seen some videos running it really smooth even at 4k (with aa on and everything else)
so, maybe im doing something wrong?

hopefully i can get some help Big Grin

bye !
Turn off vsync.

Our vsync is *very* touchy if you come remotely close to dropping below 60 fps and will kill your framerate.

il try with that one Smile
also why mario kart for example gets so slooow with efb to ram? (its that normal or its my pc)
because it gets literally unplayable.

thanks for the answer Smile

bye!
efb2ram is known to be very slow, and not needed for mario kart at all. But on your configuration, I guess your GPU is not in the high power mode. Try to force it within the driver. Our GPU usage differs a lot from common games, so the driver's hyristics fail often :/ Maybe a driver profile for dolphin?
4xSSAA with 3xIR is pretty demanding. Try turning down the AA
I don't think that's an issue. I ran ZTP with 3x IR and 4x SSAA on my 770 and it was fine.

Wouldn't hurt to try bumping it down to 2x though.
Hello, yeah its quite strange since i can run most demandings games without a problem.. (witcher3, Da inquisition for example)
il try to adjust the gpu power.. making a profile for dolphin..

also i installed the HD textures with ultra dds... and i get the same result, meaning it could be the cpu?
oh also, mb it could help to move the game to my ssd? (dolphin is on the ssd, so the cache should be there too right?)

thanks again!
cya
So i tried setting the gpu to high power, and i get the same results Tongue
im noticing stuttering in battles (even a little freeze from time to time)
and i noticed for example when i move in a cave in a cerain part i get a stuttering.. if i go back and move again the same stutter happens again...
so i tried removing the AA to see if it helps and dint make any difference.. what else could it be?
il love to avoid getting stuttering or freezes and i've seen is posible looking at gameplays on youtube Tongue

well thanks again!

Sounds like lag from loading custom textures. Enabling the option for prefetching textures will help.
Hello, tried putting prefetching, and ram goes from 4gb to constant 12 Tongue
besides that yeah the stutter in the cave part for example keep occurring but is a bit less noticeable, maybe the problem has something to do with loadingg? (also tried with AA on/off)
i dont think it could be the cache/shaders since it would't repeat right?
also besides the cave test, tried to do combat and i get the same stuttering..

what else could it be?

Bye!
