I don't think so, it's more likely to be slower that way.
Which is, of course, why decaf is getting around ten commits a day, whereas cemu has only had two versions released.

if the source is hacky as shit, making open source would first break it completly and then make it working
They wouldn't have to accept anyones pull requests and could keep doing whatever they're doing right now. It doesn't matter.
What is the point in making it open source if they just refuse all PRs?
It could, you know, be compiled for us Linux users. If the code is too Windows-specific, we at least have the option of DIY hacking it together. Better than trying to run it through WINE or not having it at all.
