preferably one who's source we can see to learn about the console. the guy's whole reaction is stupid imo
he has valid points but its wrong.
eventually once enough people know how the code works and learn how the console works the process in which a project goes forward is alot faster then on your own.

Epsxe, Demul, Model 2 emulator, Kega, SSF...are all closed source and never had seen such hate about these emulators like now against Cemu.
I don't undertand. It's developer decision, live with that.

Nah I don't think he gets mad for this at all, why should he? He sits on all the cards at the moment and is enjoying the fame.
I don't really care for Wii U emulation at this point anyway and I can't even dump my games yet.
Wii U emulation is not even a possibility for me for a good couple of years just look at Dolphin.
When I first saw Wind Waker being emulated on 1.03 back in 2006 I thought HOLY SHIT they're doing GameCube now?
Now 9 years later I can play my entire GameCube and Wii library with little to none issues and that's not a small achievement.

I think a lot of people are excited to learn how it works. With it being closed source, they can't do that. Im fine with it myself. Im a gamer, so all aboard the hype train for me. :3

I still don't get why he's using OpenGL 3.3. OpenGL 4.5 is supported by everything that will be able to run this in the first place.

Even dolphin at the very beginning was closed source or am I wrong ?
Falco4ever released source and developement progressed amazingly.

dont get me wrong, i dont hate the project or his decision. his arguments are just not right.
and ye, personally i'd love to see it open source so i can learn about the console itself

TBH, there is nothing exciting on the emulator for people to get their feathers all rustled because they can't look at the source code. Unless there is something really really shady, short of a hidden bitcoin miner, it is what it is and right now the only WIIU emulator that runs a few commercial games, at 5fps and less and without sound, is closed source. Better accept that fact and move on, it's going to take a half a decade at the very least for it to reach Dolphin levels of quality anyway.

Are you really trying to defend Cemu being closed-source by comparing it with emulators of much simpler consoles with tons of documentation available at the time they were developed? Like, seriously?
Starting with the 6th generation of consoles, they became much more complex and also added a lot of security features that made documenting how they work lot more complex. And guess what? How many emulators for PS2 can play most commercial games? just PCSX2, which is open-source, the same for GC/Wii (Dolphin) or PSP (PPSSPP). Also, the newcomers from 7th gen (Xenia, Citra, RPCS3) are all open-source and already booting commercial games too, his argument that open-sourcing would slow the progress doesn't make any sense at all.
Nowadays there's simply no plausible reason to start an emulation project of a complex system and make it closed-source...
