I have a pretty high end computer, being able to run anything thrown at it at 1080p on Ultra, and even most games at 5760x1080 res on Ultra at 60fps, but when it comes to Dolphin, my comp just can't seem to get it right.

I have an FX 8350 @ 4.6Ghz, Radeon 290, 16 GB HyperX @ 1866 Mhz.

Is there anyone out there with an high end AMD rig that can chime in with settings that seem to do the trick when it comes to games?

There's not really any specific games I want to run, but I have been wanting to play back through Tales of Symphonia and RE 4, but the games still seem to hiccup even when I seem to get the settings mainly correct.
I have A10 6790k @ 5.0GHz . So I know how you feel
Unfortunately , Dolphin is a dual core app and AMD is bad at single threaded performance (multiple cores are great but each core is slow) . FX 8350 @ 4.5GHz is on par or a bit slower than an i3 4130 @ 3.4GHz , pretty much nothing you can do about that

Post your settings and we might be able to help you
Make sure you're using the lastest dev build or 5.0-rc build from here: https://dolphin-emu.org/download/
Tales of Symphonia shouldn't be very intensive to emulate. I haven't tried it on recent versions yet, but the only slowdowns were in the menu's and Flanoir might be kinda laggy.
What hiccups are you getting and what settings are you using?
If you are running at an insane IR + AA then turn off the AA and turn down the IR if needed and see if it goes away.

There will be a PC release of Tales of Symphonia soon anyway. Might want to check it out.
