Thank you so much for working forward to the dolphin emulator. Any time ago I buyed Metal gear solid twin snakes for GameCube. I love that game but I had to play it on the normal Wii.
But one day I dumped the game to my hdd so I can play it in HD on Dolphin. But with th revisions before it didn't seem to work because HLE crashes thegame and LLE won't work with my cpu. So I have to play it on the Wii every time. But since you remanaged the HLE audio it's possible to play it with HLE nearly perfect!!! No crashes, no sound stuttering or anything else. I've now played it 3 hours without any crash or sound problems and almost in 1080p. This game looks beautiful with this settings. :-)
When I'm done with mgs I have to test Xenoblade Chronicles with HLE, because it had sound problems too when you play it half an hour or so.. Maybe this problems are solved with the new revision of the emu. I hope so ;-)
Thank you thank you thank you!!!
Skywolf Wrote:My question: Is there any reason to use LLE now? How is the non zelda-µcode support?

The article says all of this, but the AX ucode was rewritten first. So with the zelda ucode covered all of the major game ucodes are done! But there are a few little bugs left, and LLE is still needed for good audio in those games, like RS2-3.

That was fixed some time ago!
I know it is an old thread* but I wanted to come back and thank delroth for the recent fix for this (I had to reregister, I guess I left it too long between logins). The sound is perfect now, easily as good as the LLE but with the ability to use the saved CPU cycles to push up the video quality settings (including stereoscopic 3D!). I only recently upgraded my aging i5 with a new i7 4970 so this couldn't have come at a better time for me so thanks again Smile

Thanks to delroth and all the other dev's who worked on this, I get the feeling it was a massive undertaking and it's great to see how much of a difference it's had.

Great article! Awesome and much appreciated work people! This emulator is one of the best out there and easily has introduced a lot of people to so many great games that would basically be lost or at least looking terrible on the real systems.
Dolphin Wiki still says the following games need LLE audio for proper emulation:

- Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
- Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
- Resident Evil Code: Veronica X
- Super Monkey Ball 2
- Pandora's Tower

I've only checked the games I have, so there should be more. Testing the aforementioned titles I couldn't find any issues in Eternal Darkness, Resident Evil Veronica X and Super Monkey Ball 2. The others are more difficult to test, since they are intermitent.

Is the Wiki just outdated for those games or am I doing something wrong? None of them use the Zelda uCode.
The list at the bottom of the blog post that this forum topic is linked to is up-to-date, unlike that one.
I thought that the Wiki would be updated by now, at least about the audio issues.
Well, we do the best we can. We don't own all games and so some pages may be outdated...
New AX HLE was HARD. You try finding and changing hundreds of bugs!
