Why was it set to 5fps in the first place? Was there a reason behind that?
It used the same location in the list of settings as audio used to use (hey look! my programming paid off! [waits for someone to say I'm wrong])
That's right. In older builds the Frame Limit options were "Auto", "Audio", "5", "10", etc. After removing Audio option, every one who had selected audio would now default to 5, which is the next option...

I'm going to do that more often from here on. Generic things like "freeze in 5.0" don't belong here! If you want to post a test report here, test the latest master AND 5.0, and post the differences! If it happens in latest master, it is not 5.0 related.

Has any progress on the broken water textures in some games been done yet for those who use the emulator on Mac OS?
It's not something Dolphin can fix, as it's Apple's fault. I don't know their bug reporting system, but it might help if more users nag them.
Whoops, I forgot this thread still existed! The release process is going to be started again, so the thread has no purpose anymore. It hasn't gotten appropriate posts for months, and without a purpose it will never be able to hold anything on-topic, so... it's time for it to go.
