hmmmm there are new dev builds right now that say stable in their description but i have no clue what it means by that
Low-risk developments are getting merged into the stable branch in preparation for the 5.0 release, but there is still no known target date for it to actually come out.

Essentially they are trying to avoid a whole lot of backtracking once they are finally ready?
Yes, as it would be conterproductive to include more ambitious changes into the stable branch only to find out later that they cause previously undiscovered serious problems.

Well, I tested it and it works very well!!! I was unable to play Donkey Kong Country return with either 3.5 or any 4.0 release, but now it play at an almost 60FPS flawless!!! But strangely games that used to work well like Mario Kart now suffer from strange frame drops (60FPS in 3.5 and 45-50FPS in 5.0rc)
