I am encountering significant slowdowns during cut-scenes and random game areas. The flashlight and mirrored objects are exceptionally problematic.
Edit: After some more testing EFB CPU access disabled seemed to help in certain areas but the difference was marginal at best.
Figure I'd bump this one more time before it gets too out of focus, and it's been about a week so I don't feel too obnoxious about it.
I was wondering, if a dev may be so kind, how daunting the problem is and how realistic a fix is in the near or not-so-near future. I don't feel entitled to a fix, just feeling out the reaction now that it's been confirmed.
Thanks for looking at it, everyone.
Was this game was still full speed in the stable 3.5 release?
I'll give it a shot and let you know later tonight. Judging from old vids, 3 or 3.5 likely handles it a little better.
It's just strange that everything is an order of magnitude better since then, yet this title regressed terribly. I suppose I could stick to that version if it works, but I'm glad the regression is at least known.
I think it's on the GPU thread. I tested this a bit and found that the flashlight being on just tanks the framerate. Turn it off and the framerate is fine. Such a weird game.
That doesn't explain why the cutscenes run like a slideshow.
The opening cutscene has a lot of dynamic lights in it; which use the same techniques as the flashlight. The game is getting slammed on the GPU thread.
