no, dolphin doesn't utilize SLI or crossfire. although, you shouldn't need to, you'll be able to do anything you damn well please with that power

Yeah, that's what I thought

I have dual 970s and it works when forcing AFR2 in the NVIDIA Panel, although the scaling is shit and it won't really work anywhere else besides the Super Mario Galaxy level select screen.

Well, Metroid Prime at high resolutions, in 3D with SSAO demands lots of GPU power (SSAO increases the requirements a lot, but looks fantastic). My overclocked Nvidia 760 can only maintain 60fps at 1.5xIR and 2xMSAA with 3D and SSAO. It would be a good test for his 980Ti, trying the game with those settings but at higher resolutions, like at least 3xIR and 4xIR.

dolphin does not use sli or crossfire
So I have my pc now, game is running at 8x internal resolution at 60fps with only 55% usage of the gpu. Are there any other insane settings to use?

I guess you're already using 16xAF. It's one of the best graphics settings and it's almost free.
Per pixel lighting: it doesn't have big requirements and it looks nice when a game makes use of it, but it will probably increase the number of shaders to compile (that means more stuttering for new effects).
3D Vision 2, if you have a compatible monitor. It looks great and your GPU usage will be between 2x and 2.5x.
Post processing shaders, especially SSAO in the Ishiiruka builds. SSAO will kill your fps in some games and it will look good if configured properly.
HD textures for games that have texture packs. They are nice and requirements will increase somewhat.
And antialiasing, I guess. But at 8xIR it won't help much and it will increase GPU usage a lot.
