I'm not going to plug a cable from my bedroom and have it running all the way down the stairs and into my living room.

I don't mind using a box like
this one, if that allows me to play my emulators on my tv.

What exactly do you mean with stream?
@emuguy: Just look at our android section. We already support ARM CPUs, so at some time, when good enough CPUs are built into TVs, dolphin may run on it itself. But right now, there is no such television available.

That is why I am asking if a box like
this one, would allow me to play my emulators on my tv.
The steam link just copy the output of your computer to your television. If you want such a box to play dolphin near the TV directly, you have to choose
this one.
Why do have to choose that one?
If the steam link box allows me to play content from my computer on my television then shouldn't it solve the problem?
If I were you I would just go with my last option and setup a long HDMI cable, install it very professional and discrete so as to not be noticeable based on your home setup instead of just wasting money on some box, very cost efficient and effective as your getting direct input... but that's just me.

An in-home streaming solution like the Steam Link would basically do what you want, yes. (I think there might be some issues with the Steam Overlay and Dolphin, maybe a dev can confirm- other than that, there's no reason it wouldn't work.)
It's sub-optimal, though. The input-to-video round trip becomes Gamepad->Steamlink->Network->PC->Network->Steamlink->TV, rather than Gamepad->PC->TV. For the latency to be acceptable, you'd at least have to have a wired Ethernet connection between the devices rather than using Wifi. And if you can lead a network cable, you can just lead an HDMI cable.
If you really aren't willing to do that and can afford to, I would advise just building a second computer for under-TV use (commonly called an HTPC). You could do a G3258+750Ti build in a small (MiniITX) case for about 440 USD. Overclock it a bit, and it would perform very well in Dolphin and could actually do admirably in a lot of modern PC games too.
I have ordered a steamlink as today.
I have been reading about controllers compatible with steamlink, and it seems that PS3 controllers works wired, where as PS4 controllers works wirelessly. I have a PS3 controller so lets see how it works out.
I have also been reading reviews about the steamlink to see how it performs, and most people says it performs well, however some says that it has some issues with a 2.4GHz wireless connection, so I might have to upgrade my wireless connection to 5GHz.
I will get back to this thread as soon as my steamlink arrives.
