thanks for that build! definitly more responsive and up to date. but for some reason the controller just does not want to work on this build, i know it sounds like im a noob at this but android isnt all the straight forward. anyhelp right now is greatly appreciated.

Just read through this entire thread as we've already covered that multiple times. Controller support with newer dev builds does not currently work, but the devs are currently working on trying to resolve the issues.

can you post more videos about getting dolphin to work properly on older builds on the shield tv, im getting graphic glitchs and crashing like no other. any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
So if you're an absolute psychopath and want the most up-to-date dolphin build auto-pushed to your device, I built something to do that because... idk #YOLO.
Requirements:
- A usb to mini cable (like the charger for the shield controller); you only need this once.
- Knowing what the IP of your shield is.
1. Enable developer mode on your shield tv (press A 7 times on build in settings)
2. Enable usb debugging in the new developer settings option.
3. Plug your shield TV into a computer via usb (you only need to do this once)
4. Run AdbDriverInstaller.exe to straighten out the device drivers.
5. ONLY IF YOU DONT HAVE ADB ALREADY - install adb-setup included with this zip.
6. From a command prompt, run "daemon.bat ip_address dolphin" (e.g. "daemon.bat 192.168.0.108 dolphin")
The program will run every 4 hours, check for a new build, pull it, and install it if necessary.

You could actually use this for other programs as well - I made it basically work like a plugin system... an exercise left to the reader, I suppose.
Two more videos of 1 game (Bionicle Heroes). First up is the game running at full speed without having to overclock/underclock Dolphin using build 4.0-5672. However, a lot of textures have crazy colors.

I also made a video using Kwee's unofficial optimized build from a few months ago. It didn't quite run at full speed, so I used OC = 0.5 and then it did (although it's actually running a bit too fast now). The colored texture issue doesn't happen with this build.

buffyvpsfan: I'm not sure what else to tell you. There are three main builds I test games out on (4.0-4762 official, and Kwee's two unofficial optimized builds from this forum--see the post about list of games playable here on the Android forums). A lot of games simply do not currently work without either glitches, freezing, crashing, or some won't even boot. We just have to wait for the devs to put more work into the Android port.
batteryshark: Sounds pretty cool. Let me know once one of these newer builds actually works with the NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV device. As it stands now (I've tested up to 4.0-6746), the graphics are back to working properly, the controls do not auto unbind upon booting a game, but the controls still do not work in any games.
EDIT: Video of NHL Hitz 2003.

Does anyone know how (or at least instruct someone like me on coding) to get the controls to work on new dev builds with the NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV? Or does anyone know why they stopped working back around build 4.0-6399? I'd really like to test out some more games while I have the time, but my only options right now are to use a build that causes nearly all games to freeze/crash after a few mins (but has pretty good FPS on a lot of games while it's working--talking about build 4.0-5672), or use the older Kwee optimized builds which don't have nearly as many crashing issues but run most games at a lot lower FPS than 4.0-5672.
Also, time for another video--Kirby Air Ride.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57JnjiD-5sU -- Note that I used build 4.0-5672 for this video. With this build, the game freezes quite often and has some glitchy background textures, but it runs faster than the Kwee optimized builds (those builds do not freeze/crash).
I just pushed an update that should fix a few bugs and bring performance up.
I'd recommend physically uninstalling the application from the device through the application manager and reinstalling.
Or at least clear the data and cache in the application manager.

Awesome, thanks a ton for working on this! I tested out 4.0-6789 (the latest as of right now), but the controls still weren't working. However, I just tested out 4.0-6787 and the controls ARE working (yay!) I was just heading off to bed, so I'll do some thorough testing tomorrow.
Thanks again, you're a great person.

I'm also looking forward to a build that works on my shiny new Shield TV. All of my other emulators are working, so having working Dolphin in the mix would be amazing!
Alright, so I've done a little bit of testing with 4.0-6787 on Super Mario Sunshine. The FPS is definitely a lot better (so that's pretty awesome), but there are a couple of major issues. The first being that after 1-2 minutes of playing, the screen always goes black (this issue seems to happen with a some of the other games I've tried too--Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, RE4 either black screens or boots you back to the Dolphin menu, and Zelda: Wind Waker--which sometimes just crashes or black screens). The second issue being that half the textures that make up Mario's body disappear randomly sometimes. I made 6 videos testing out different locations in the game for anyone interested in seeing them (I had planned on merging them into 1 video, but for whatever reason I couldn't get the sync to stay throughout the whole video that way).

EDIT: Super Smash Bros. Melee is running faster, but the menus and a few other background textures are trippy (colors bouncing) and the game freezes shortly into a fight (tried both classic mode and training mode).
EDIT 2: Mario Kart Double Dash!! seems to run about the same as 4.0-5672 (actually most games run nearly identical to that build from what I've tested).
EDIT 3: Soul Calibur II kicks you right back to the menu immediately after trying to boot the game.
EDIT 4: Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door goes to a light blue screen instead of a black screen...
EDIT 5: Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex freezes upon trying to load any levels (it didn't do this before)
EDIT 6: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone freezes after the initial WB logo intro.
EDIT 7: SpongeBob SquarePants Battle for Bikini Bottom freezes just after the first loading screen
EDIT 8: Dragon Ball Z Sagas freezes on the accessing memory card page (the first thing to appear after the copyright screen, and you cannot bypass it)
I'll post more info as I test more games out.
EDIT 9: Video of Mario Party 4 running on 4.0-5672 (I didn this video before 4.0-6787 was released, so I haven't tested it on that build yet):
