I'm genuinely impressed with how well Melee runs. It IS a tremendous improvement over how the Shield tab and other android devices have handled it.

I feel this combination of hardware and emulator can go really far.
Yeah, I hope the devs can continue to optimize some builds for this device. The last couple month's worth of builds don't work on it due to issues I outlined in an earlier post.

I'm surprised with how well The Legend of Zelda - Twilight Princess for GameCube runs too as well as Luigi's Mansion (more videos tomorrow).
i was on the fence about getting this until the facts were in but now that i hear melee, and luigis mansion work great im more inclined to buy this.   whats the framerate for twilight princess, and luigi's mansion????  last but not least, what resolution have you guys been using? no one has mention it yet.
Luigi's Mansion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOADqQSngrE

I'm running at 2x native internal resolution. All the games I've tested run at the same exact speed whether it be 2x or 1x native, so that's pretty nice. I haven't tried anything higher than 2x yet since I'm recording at 720p, but I'll give even higher ones a test sometime soon to see what the bottleneck resolution is on this device.

EDIT - Here's Zelda: Twilight Princess: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kr7GhTP4uGo
EDIT 2 - Another Mario Kart Double Dash video showing better FPS with a different build (4.0-5651): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpJMzElp2oM
Wow,  thanks for those, just saw them on YouTube before coming. Luigi's Mansion and LoZ:TP are impressive.

From memory I was running stuff on the Shield Tablet in at least 2xIR, so will definitely be able to go higher without penalty in the Android TV - let us know your results!

(this is making the wait for mine quite difficult)
Alright, so I've been messing around with the internal resolution options and anti-aliasing options for TimeSplitters 2 since it ran so well.

2x IR, 4x AA = 60 FPS

3x IR, 1x AA = 60 FPS
3x IR, 2x AA = 58 FPS
3x IR, 4x AA = 55-56 FPS

4x IR, 1x AA = 40-41 FPS
4x IR, 2x AA = 34-35 FPS
4x IR, 4x AA = 33 FPS

On another note, it looks like some work is being done for Android TV devices (i.e. this new NVIDIA SHIELD). There are six recent builds that note Android TV in their description notes.

4.0-6583: Merge pull request #2514 from sigmabeta/android-tv-support
4.0-6505: Android TV: File Dolphin under "Games" on the TV Launcher
4.0-6504: Android TV: Add TV banner + some metadata.
4.0-6503: Android TV: Allow the app to be launched from an Android TV launcher.
4.0-6488: Merge pull request #2499 from sigmabeta/android-tv-tweaks
4.0-6487: Android TV: Make file selector screen usable with d-pads

So now the launcher is indeed placed on the home screen under the "Games" category. However, the newer builds (I tried 4.0-6583 and 4.0-6599) still have the jumpy/bouncy/crazy graphics issues with this NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV device, and the controller bindings are still resetting as soon as you launch a game... making the builds unplayable.

EDIT: Time for another video--this time Metroid Prime. It runs maybe 5-10 FPS better than it did on the SHIELD tablet from the videos I've seen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaqkA3YwEGk

EDIT 2: Several people have asked for the settings I use and how to do the overclocking of the Dolphin.ini file, so I added a video where I detail everything I can think of... hopefully this helps some of you guys testing the emulator out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCJKOKAc0Rs
So it turns out that Wii games with GameCube controller support have the potential to work. Here's a video of Super Smash Bros. Brawl: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vq7TDZj9CnI

Here's a list of Wii games with GameCube controller support: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Wii_games_that_use_the_Nintendo_GameCube_controller

So far I've also gotten Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2 & 3 working (videos to come later today).

Games tested with GameCube controller support but not working:

As of right now you have to sideload a majority of apps via .apk files using a file manager/browser (such as ES File Explorer, which you CAN grab from the Google Play Store -- Google Android sideloading or something along those lines if you don't know about it).

I also made a tutorial video on how I install and setup Dolphin on my NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV device. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCJKOKAc0Rs
it literally ate my microsd, won't come out. never in all my years have i had a device that ate my microsd
