adb shell su -c "setprop persist.tegra.OGL_ThreadControl 0x01"
I haven't really noticed any changes in performance but I haven't done much testing either. SSBM was really glitchy for me, but I don't know if it was the build (8301) or the adb command.
I found the command in this thread: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-build-variation-and-benchmark
Thanks! I tried that without using the su command, so perhaps that may help do the trick.
Curious if anyone can chime in on what they've found to be one of the better performing recent builds.
@FreeEmulator in your videos you have the analog triggers working properly, but mine will only do a full trigger pull (making Sunshine unplayable) any idea how to fix?
Hi folks, I'm new to Dolphin as well to the Nvidia Shield TV, and I'm trying to get this up and working. I've looked through the FAQ and through this thread a couple of times, but couldn't find answers to these:
- I have the latest dev version loaded, and I have an ISO saved to my SD card. Whenever I go to Add Folder and browse to the ISO, it doesn't load. I copied on ISO to the internal storage and it loaded fine. Does Dolphin support loading from the SD card at this point?
- When I did load the game from the internal storage, it crashed with a "Panic alert: invalid read" error. Some googling leads me to believe this is a CPU emulation problem with no fix, but I see other people reporting that the game (Luigi's Mansion) is working mostly ok. What would be my next troubleshooting steps? I've tried all three CPU core options in the settings, with and without Dual Core enabled, but that's about it so far.

It should be mostly plug-and-play. If the exact same process worked for loading something from the device's internal storage, but not from the external SD card, that sounds like a bug. You should file a report on the tracker. If you have the Android dev tools installed on an attached computer, see if you can use them to determine if the app is logging an error message.
For what it's worth, all my games are on an external SD card, and they work fine.
As for Luigi's Mansion, I don't have that game so I can't test it myself. It's possible it's been broken since those reports. One thing you can try is to uninstall the application, delete /sdcard/dolphin-emu/, and then reinstall the application. However, this will only help if you had been using a really old build previously (the configuration management system has trouble when you switch between the current build and really old ones.)
Hopefully that helps. If not, it may be worth filing a bug with the exact text of the panic alert message included.
Build #105 runs really well and is a bit faster, even without overclocking.
I am having a great time with grinding stickers on Brawl with my custom factory stage and Sandbags, despite the slowdown with the massive amount of them on the stage at once.
I really do hope the Marshmallow update increases the GPU clock to 600Mhz on the maximum performance mode to meet the standards of Gen2 FireTV.
One issue that may have already been noticed, but after creating a custom stage and trying to start a Brawl match,it panic alerts when entering the stage select.
After it exits out,you can restart the game with no further issue from it.
The panic alert may be caused by the Gecko codes I have enabled such as Generalized Super or Infinite Jumps.

Should the app be able to load from any storage attached to the system? Because I can't get it to work with a USB drive either. I'll try deleting and re-installing even though I installed it fresh yesterday.
Just to confirm the way it should work: I go to Add Folder, browse to the the folder on sdcard1 (which is just \roms\gc), select the 7z or so file, and it should load. Right now it just returns me back to the main screen of the app.
I need to dump a few more games and test those as well.
Thanks for the response!
7z? Dolphin doesn't support formats like zip, rar and 7z.

Yeah I figured that out but forgot to edit my posts.
Dolphin is loading games from the SD card now. I reinstalled the same version, deleted everything from the \roms folder, then recopied the games, this time keeping them in their own folder. Luigi's mansion loads, and works, but he doesn't have head.

I've seen that one reported around so I'm not worried about it.
Is there a general process of troubleshooting games? Like, start with changing the CPU settings, or the resolution? I'm just trying to get a feel for how I should be approaching problems.

Changing settings is unlikely to be of much benefit; when things don't work, it's usually due to the ARM JIT being less complete / accurate than the desktop version (especially on Shield, which runs the same graphics backend.)
One way to prove this is to see if a problem is reproducible with the Interpreter CPU core selected. This is much, much slower, though.
The most helpful thing for the devs is if you can grab the source code and disable JIT instructions individually (having them fallback to the interpreter) to identify which one is broken. If you're interested in doing that, the dev channel on IRC is a good place to start.
(btw, you should compress your games using the desktop version's built in compression function)
any idea if the super paper mario can be played in android?
