Hello everyone, sorry I do realize this thread probably belongs under the "Game Support>Gamecube" section but I literally just registered to hopefully get an answer to this question and when I went into that section I could not find anywhere to create a new thread. If there is any way an admin could move this thread into that section it would be greatly appreciated. Also I checked the Melee Thread under that section but couldn't find anything for this problem.

Back to my question. Every time I open my SSBM .gcm file I get the same message. It says "The Memory Card in Slot A has no saved Game Data, Create Game Data?". Whenever I try to click any button at this point nothing happens. The weird thing is I know I have a "memory card" file for my dolphin but I just don't know why nothing is happening. I am a noob at Dolphin I admit but can someone just give me a step by step guide on how to fix this.. I just want to play Melee! lol I appreciate any help you guys can give me. Thank you!
What do you mean by opening your .gcm file?
A .gcm file is just a renamed gamecube .iso.

What exactly do you mean by "click any button"? That sounds like you're trying to use the mouse...
Oh sorry, I was thinking it was a memory card.

yeah I am just saying I open the melee game file (.gcm) but i guess .iso works too. Either way no I have a wiimote set up which runs perfectly when I play brawl on dolphin but like I said no matter what I do on this melee game data page I cant do anything. It doesnt even let me move the yes or no option. Does anyone have a solution to this?
>Wiimote set up
>wondering why it doesn't work in a GameCube game

I'm happy to see that there's no end to the stupidity that ends up on these forums.

The GameCube does not have a select button...

Can you post a screenshot of your controller settings panel and your GCPad settings please? Please remember to use the Snipping Tool crop the image(s) to just the relevant things and upload the image(s) to imgur.
Truth be told, doing support for a game console emulator where the primary concerns are performance, controls, and graphical bullshit does take its toll on you. All I really care to do here anymore is shitpost.

That said, have you double-checked that Slot 1 is set to Standard Controller in Config > GameCube? (At some point after 4.0.2, we moved this setting to a place where you absolutely wouldn't be able to miss it, so you may want to try a current dev build while you're at it (they're faster *and* inherently better in every way): https://dolphin-emu.org/download/)

Under gamecube port 1 I changed the blank setting to standard controller and now the keyboard settings are allowing me to play the game. But I want to play it on my wiimote the way you would be able to play it on a regular wii. Is there any way I can do this?
