My goal is to get as many textures converted to HD for Twilight Princess so I can optimize this game for HD resolutions. This pack is far from being done. Also, I need a lot of people to help me with this texture pack.
If you would like to help me please PM me.

Here is a few screenshots of the game running with the HD Texture Pack:

Yes, please move it to the HD Texture Forum.
I like the hair. Smile
Moved it for you.
Would be nice to have some before -> after screenshots. Put your screenshots in a spoiler too please (unless you're (going to be) using thumbnails). You can have one (not too overly large one) outside of it if you want though.
Hi everybody! I'm new here, and I wanted to ask something.

1-. I see DDS texture package are a lot smaller than PNG version, is there any diference when we use it for playing? I mean visual difference? or it is only because of the file format?

2-. Does it change the performance of the game? I mean, for example, supposing DDS texture is a compressed format, can it have a low performance compared to PGN textures cause it has to uncompress it first or something like that? ... and... can PNG version overload, or at least need more VRAM than the DDS version? ... I don't really know anything about PGN and DDS textures versiones.

3-. If a game has two versions, Wii version and GC versión, for example... can I use a textures from the Wii version on a GameCube version and viceversa?

Thanks alot! Smile

Hello! As far as I know, DDS files retain just about the same quality as PNGs (the difference is basically unnoticeable), so the difference in size is just from the file format.

I believe DDS generally fares better, especially given their smaller file sizes.

In the case of Twilight Princess, then yes, the vast majority of the textures are all the same.
The DDS version will always be faster than the PNG version, the only drawback is that the DDS version will lose a bit of quality but most people won't even notice the quality loss unless you use a really big monitor so if you have to chose between the two of them, go for the DDS version. The DDS version will also use less ram.

And yes, textures from the Wii version will also be compatible with the GameCube version. I don't know if all the textures are cross compatible but I remember using the GameCube version of Twilight Princess from another thread and use it with no issue with the Wii version of the game.
Thanks a lot!

Then, for Twilight Princess, I can use any version then... I asked about it, bacause I saw 4 diferent version in a project (It was Zelda TTP in fact), GC DDS, GC PNG, Wii DDS and Wii PNG... So, it would be fine for me to preserve only the GC DDS version? (I think I'm gonna emulate that version, but Wii version is compatible with Wide screens, isn't it?... hmmm... not sure then)

What about other games? are there more games with two versions (GC and Wii)? and what about Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii) and XBC-X (WiiU)?... is it possible to use its textures??? or is it any HD mod even better than the X (WiiU) version?

Finally, Zelda TTP for Wii is inverted (i guess it is for the most of people being right handed, (i'm not)... is it any posibility of "reinvert" it? (or to get Windescreen mode on the GC version, liking fine?)

Thanks a lot... really for your help guys

EDIT: Oh! and I saw this in the same place I downloaded the textures "999 - Staff Roll (Ending Scenes).mp3" ... whan is that for? for changeing the ending music? why? O_O (I don't even know how to use that MP3 in Dolphin...
For Twilight Princess the texture are mostly cross compatible because they are both the same game, the only difference is that they are inverted but just in case, keep a copy of the texture of each version in case one of them fails to load a texture.

It's not possible to use the texture of Xenoblade Chronicles X because that's a Wii U game. Cemu (a Wii U emulator) can barely emulate that game and that emulator won't support textures anytime soon so for the time being, it's not possible.

It's not possible to "reinvert" either version of Twilight Princess in Dolphin yet, the emulator does not have that feature yet.

And lastly, the GameCube version of  Twilight Princess can be played in wide screen too with a hack, you can enable that hack by right-clicking the game in the emulator and going to Properties > AR Codes and enabling NTSC (16:9 Aspect Ratio Fix). Since it's a hack it will have its issues but for the most part it will work just fine.
