Hi,
I'm runnnig Dolphin 4.0-6237 in my Macbook Air 2014 base model,
games are playing really nice but some games run slow until I turn off
Destination Alpha and then enable it again - this is fine for GC games
but it causes issues with Wii ones, because once you open the settings
to disable/enable and continue playing the Wii pointer doesn't work properly
anymore, very noticable in Super Mario Galaxy 1/2 where you have to
point on stars to get into a new level.

Here's I picture i found on the internet of someone having the same problem.
Also happens when you try to collect starbits and grab something with Yoshis
tounge in SMG2.

Here's my configuration:

Maybe there is some patch or something wrong with my configuration?
What I think is weird is that after disabling/enabling Destination Alpha the
game runs like a charm, even if it should be the slower like after launch?

Thanks for any solutions!
I guess you just disable the efb access on opening the gfx setting. At least this is the reason why the pointer isn't working any more. And this feature is known to get a big slowdown in SMG.

Thanks for the fast answer! How do I prevent it from doing that? Yeah I get a big slowdown if I disable Destination Alpha, but after enabling it again it runs at 60FPS. When I start the game (also with Destination Alpha on) i get 30 FPS... kinda weird.
Oh, i figured it out myself. So it wasn't really Destination Alpha causing the issue,
it was me opening the graphic settings and overwriting the ones the game needs...
So the real issue is EBF Access from CPU slowing down the game, what a bummer.
Guess there is no workaround for that?
You can disable EFB access, but it will break the pointer. Choose what you want ...

Since it basically makes the game unplayable if I disable it I guess I have to stick to a slower game, thanks for the support!
Damn he is right, if I disable Destinaion Alpha and enable it again I got a 20fps boost, now it runs at a playable speed.
But yeah this breaks the pull stars and you need to disable "Store EFB Copies to Texture only" to fix that which is  very demanding.

Edit: man I'm such a slow writer.

Yeah but like degasus said it just overwrites the settings the game changes on start Undecided
Would be awesome if the pointer issue gets fixxed in future updates when EFB is enabled!
Yeah just read it, damn, it runs so good without it.
Isn't there a Hotkey to change that option? So I can put it on a button whenever I need it.

Edit: Welp, the Hotkey option doesn't respond anymore for some reason.

I could look if it's working for me but I only see "Toggle EFB Copies" not "Skip EFB access" in the Hotkey menu.
