Hmm, not sure if your problem is related, but you could verify it by testing the two builds mentioned above (4.0-6018 and 4.0-6021). If the freezing starts with the latter, then your freezes are caused by the same thing.

Then I suspect the pre 4.0-6xxx freezes are not related, as these freezes [I and op are having] are consistent with 4.0-6021 and after and are consistently absent before that.

After reading the conversation in culprit pull request ( https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/pull/2295 ) I'm sure that @comex and @Armada651 already have some idea of what's wrong, but I'll make an issue report. (->EDIT: Done, see https://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/issues/detail?id=8585)
BTW it appears that the problem was already reported on Apr 27 2015, see https://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/issues/detail?id=8518 , I didn't check the already reported issues carefully enough before I started digging on my own.

Oh well, at least the developers are aware [Image: tongue.gif] .

Yes, prior to 602x works fine here.

Hope a fix will come soon.
I too get this issue. Been using 4.0-5390 which didn't have this problem. Got latest recently and I get a blackscreen when I press Esc.
Tried today´s build, bug still there.

It´s a pain to close dolphin with task manager every time you use it.

Not happening on my side.
Is it happening on any game?
maybe if you turn on logging, it will produce an error.
On my nvidia pc, this bug stop happening when changed to opengl. In directx still happens.

On my intel igpu build, it freezes when exiting any game, dx or opengl.

Will have to do some logs, but I think it affects most users.
You can avoid it by using borderless full screen, and IIRC enabling the "confirm on stop" option may also allow you to avoid it.
Didnt try borderless, but it says something about increased lag using this option, is it recommended?
If you don't notice a difference, then the increased input lag doesn't matter.
