Hey guys, I tried following all the steps in this thread... no luck. As of right now, one port works on my mayflash adapter, but the others don't. I'm running Yosemite 10.10.5, and the most recent version of Dolphin. Interestingly, even though the controller works, it says "adapter not detected"... am I missing something obvious? Direct connect is checked.

I am using the Biogenik Wii U adapter. I can plug into my computer and it has the light indicating that it is working. Previously before installing this new kext it would show up under the controllers but none of the buttons would do anything and it would say adapter not detected. Now, after installation it no longer appears under the controllers. How do I fix this, or if I can't, uninstall it? I am currently using Yosemite 10.10.5

Assuming your adapter implements Nintendo's control interface, it will report to OS X that it's an HID input device (like a generic gamepad or joystick), but it doesn't tell OS X *how* it's applied as an input device (buttons, axis, and the order and format they're delivered in).
Nintendo's official adapter returns invalid garbage that OS X's IOKit chokes on (IOKit has full decision-making power when it comes to loading and configuring drivers).
The .kext I wrote convinces IOKit that Nintendo's adapter is lying and is NOT in fact an HID device. This leaves exclusive, low-level control of the device out in the open for Dolphin to access.
Dolphin's "Direct Connect" checkbox (which may say "Adapter not detected") bypasses the OS' HID stack entirely (where you see controllers and button configs listed).
Pretend the Configure button next to the controller type dropdown doesn't exist!!
Check your adapter for a mode switch too, generally a PC/WiiU one and make sure it's set to WiiU.
If you'd rather uninstall, just delete the kext at "/Library/Extensions/SmashEnabler.kext"

How would I uninstall the one (non kext) that was linked along with this one on the page: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=How_to_use_the_Official_GameCube_Controller_Adapter_for_Wii_U_in_Dolphin
I think this is the one I may have installed since I didn't do it in terminal. Sorry if this is not the place to post this but it said to post here for questions about either techniques.

The installer package installs the exact same file in the exact same place
/Library/Extensions/SmashEnabler.kext

Im runing OS X El Capitan and am successfully running the adapter on Dolphin version 4.0-4599. However, unless I'm reading over something, I can't seem to get the adapter to work in any following versions as I do not have a "direct connect" option in my controller configure as shown.

Can I only play on version 4.0-4599? If so that's super unfortunate..

The wiki article posted some more details

So it must be in that first dropdown menu for your version.

With any necessary installation complete, run Dolphin and click the GameCube controller dropdown. Select GameCube Adapter for Wii U on any slot that you wish to use the adapter for. Hitting Configure when this is selected allows you to turn rumble off/on per controller, as well as a toggle for using the DK Bongos.
