I have known about Dolphin for years but haven't really started paying attention to it until this past month when I found out my laptop, ASUS F75VD, can handle Dolphin pretty decently. What version did Dolphin start supporting Wii games or anything Wii-related?
Way back when it first went open-source back in 2008, it had some preliminary Wii support. The Wii CPU and GPU were just modified versions of what was in the GC.
Go grab the latest dev build and enjoy some GC/Wii games:

Yes, but what version is that? 2.0? Also I know that the Wii is a glorified GCN console.

Already doing that before the post. See
my contributions.

It was like version 1.05 or something. Go find the 10 years of Dolphin video if you really want the exact revision

1.0-5

I am only asking because I am starting to edit Wii Wiki entries that have no known compatibility changes (all black bar, like
The Sims 3). I am putting things like "
Probably OK past 2.0 and 3.x", like in
The Sims 2: Pets (Wii).
Please avoid putting guesses into the version compatibility bar... it's best for it to have information from actual testing. It's ok for something to be blank!
I think it was something between r2000 and r3000. Damn it's quite old dude.

The GPU is
exactly the same, just with a higher clock. Even has the same bugs (as does the wii u, so it's very unlikely that it uses emulation).
