I think part of the justification of making Windows 10 a free upgrade is to make sure that developers don't have to use older APIs in order to guarantee compatibility. I don't think they want a repeat of DirectX 9 and its ubiquity over a decade after its release.

For some reason my account does not log, so i had to make another one, but i did go crazy and bought one intel system:

board:

Case:

cooler:

Well with that i have OC to 4.7 stable no issues, been running my wii games like a champ all day long, i dont have GPU yet.
The board is 0overkill for the pentium but i plan to upgrade to i5 i7 when prices drop.
It run quiet and cooler in fact i am amaze how well it run compared to my FX in dolphin.
Another consideration is power consumption 55w (more or less + HDD fans) vs 120w+220w (gpu), electricity is very expensive in portugal.
I am considering making it my main gaming pc.

Other parts i have taken them from my FX, this is my second intel build after my very old pentium 4 that still work.
I may want to buy a GPU any suggestions? I dont know what is better for emulation, and my asus 6950 II does not fit in the case because it takes 3 pci slots (yeah that bit).
I was thinking of the GTX960 but i may wait for amd 300 series
Build it on pcpartpicker for cheaper. I would suggest one of the GTX 700 series for medium quality gaming.
