It is, but it's a humongous project (probably hundreds if not thousands of person-years of work go into a fully-fledged modern 3D driver!). Linux has a few open source drivers, though their quality is often directly proportional to the documentation and assistance given by the manufacturer.

Aha so is graphical development similar with the Linux version of Dolphin?
