Bought myself a fairly cheap Windows 8 tablet and am in the process of playing the shipment waiting game.
Here are the specs
7"
2.16 GHZ Intel Atom Z3735F
2Gb ddr3 ram
Intel HD 4000 gpu
I am hoping I can play something with this - 2d or low req
Anyone have any experience with this gpu/processor ?
Thanks all
Intel HD , not Intel HD 4000
It's not a desktop processor , not even a mobile processor but a S.O.C
A S.O.C Atom is much slower than a desktop Atom
Desktop Atom is too slow to play anything .
Honestly , I doubt Windows can run smoothly on this processor , not even mention about gaming on this thing . Maybe some Android games can run on this if you install Android
Also , the speed of Z3735F is 1.83GHz , not 2.16GHz

It's not even on par with my snapdragon 801 @ 2.5GHz . To tell you the truth , there is no game can be playable on Snapdragon 801 , not even 2d game
I have a lesser version of a tablet like this, dolphin or pcsx2 will not be playable in my opinion, (it has 4 weak cores with low clock speed) older emulators should be playable along with less demanding pc games like oblivion, and skyrim on minimum with some tweaks.

lol that Atom in a tablet would destroy a snapdragon 801. Intel's drivers are much faster than Qualcomm's, and the Atom can IPC murder any qualcomm chip. And that Intel HD graphics chip is a proper GPU. OP would be easily able to destroy your phone's performance. Light 3D games would definitely run at 1xIR, which is more than I can say for a snapdragon 801. 2.5GHz means nothing. Literally nothing. The IPC is horrific and the 801 generates a metric ton of heat, and cannot run at full clock without throttling down. Not that it ever gets there because of all the wasted cycles thanks to the atrocious drivers.
Try like Wind Waker and see how it goes.
I would try it on mine, but the 1gb of ram is sort of a pain when dealing with games and such.
Thanks for the info
I will def give the light weight games a try once this is delivered. Need something to bench this devices performance anyway.
Sounds like Wind Waker + Animal Crossing + Paper Mario will likely be the ones that I should try first
I'm going to find some benchmarks and see how the processor holds up to the Snapdragons in terms of performance not that you can really compare arm vs 64bit
Don't forget to use the latest dev build
Geekbench doesn't take into account single-core speeds only. And Dolphin is way better optimized on Windows than on ARM
