- Two people download a fresh build, make it portable, change absolutely NOTHING, nor start any game. Set ISO path only.
- Two people who have the EXACT SAME portable build, having sent the files, like the user in this thread.
- One person running 2 copies of the exact same portable build on the same computer.
- One person running the SAME INSTANCE of the build. Same User files. Same executable or not.

Wiimote Netplay DOES NOT WORK (2 wiimotes+, wiimote slot 1 only is fine). Please stop directing users to the same old "make sure you did it right" bullshit.

And to go in more details, previous builds at least started with 2+ wiimotes, but had 2 major issues, those being that wrong inputs were sent for the extensions, and games desync pretty much right away even without extensions. However the current build (5809) does not run with 2+ wiimotes at all. There was an accepted bug report for it that's now Fixed but I don't know about that.

Okay, well, it works for me, so idk what to tell you.
I don't think all games work with Wiimote netplay. That's just my experience with it.
But can I at least have a confirmation on the extension issue?

I've given clear detailed steps, someone could at least try it out. All I see is "it worked for me before, at some point, in unknown conditions, no idea if there was even an extension used". Which doesn't mean anything.

From what I have seen, wiimote extensions never work correctly, with 4 people tested, and 5 different games, and the issue is being ignored entirely. Do I have to make a google doc report? I just didn't bother since the devs clearly did see the thread.

If not for the extension issue, which to me is a constant bug, not something vague that only happens some times or with some games, the wiimote netplay might actually be working fine now. I've ran NSMBW in local netplay for a little while and it didn't desync, although I've yet to try it with someone else.
Make an issue report then? Most devs don't follow the forums because there are too many pointless questions and threads that amount to nothing interesting or worse.

It says not to ask for help in an issue report and I don't think this is an issue with the emulator, I'm just trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong.
I made a report about the extension issue.

If you're not getting past the first screen, there's probably something wrong somewhere, yes. Try the steps I've given on the last page, or look out for one of those potential issues:

- The Cache and Wii User folders are not the same. (copying over someone's files might not replace all the files)
- The Wiimote extensions are not all set to the same thing. That should really be done by the emulator itself though.
- I don't think other settings being different should cause a freeze or an error at netplay startup, but go over them once more anyway.
- Make sure to completely close the emulator before starting each netplay attempt. Not doing so on either side will result in failure, all the time as far as I've seen.

I've not actually seen a "desync error" popup in a long time and I've forgotten what causes it. From my testing, all things above cause either a freeze or a desync without popup in the latest build.

EDIT: I remembered one cause of the desync popup that still does it; assigning 2 wiimotes to each person. (wiimote 0: player1, wiimote 1:player1, wiimote 2:player2, wiimote 3:player2) Might not be the exact cause, but this scenario does cause the error. Also note that the game will freeze if wiimote 0 is not used while another wiimote is used.
I'd like to know if anyone has been able to get netplay NSMBW to work. Anyone. JMC, you don't count :p.
I got it to work right after 4.0 on single core. I do too count!
Ok JMC. You're right. I followed your instructions to disable the nunchuks for two emulated wiimotes and it worked. NICE!

But as someone here suggested, the controls are messed up and aren't aligned with the config inputs at all. Do you have this issue as well or no? Are you using the defaults or loading a profile for the two emulated wiimotes?
you probably need to turn on sideways wiimote or something.
