So I have ~ $200ish for a new GPU from uncle sam. What should I get? Looking for 4x IR. I believe this puts me at 960gtx, R9 270X or lower end r9 280. Silent at idle is very important. Also want to crack into some steam gaming. Nervous about the idea of a used card.

Current Setup:
Kodibuntu 14.04
i7 4790k
4GB DDR3 1300
700 watt PSU

GTX 960 then . Nothing can beat it when it comes to power consumption
Lower Power Consumption = Lower heat output -> Fan will spin at lower speed -> Less noisy
750ti/660 is already more than enough for x4 and in games i played its even enough for x4 max aa. so it depends on how much power you want for steam games.
True . My friend has GTX 660 and it can handle 4xIR in any game . But still , Maxwell is more efficient than Kepler
So either GTX 750 / GTX 750 ti or GTX 960 will do
How far can a GTX 750 push? 4x?
Probably from 3x to 5xIR depending on how demanding the game is

960 gtx purchased! hopefully it fits in my case!
Post how far you can push with it once you get it!
It'll also last longer with driver support than the already 2 year old 660
I would have gone 280x if you could find one for 220 ish

But I myself just bought a Asus 960 and love it. The 280x was too big for my case
