I just remembered my friend has a lenovo with that processor, and he plays dolphin (he says the screen is a matt tn that is poorly calibrated). Do you want me to check the model? Also, sorry about the previous, post it was on a touch screen right before class, I should have been more careful.
Yes, combine1237, if you could, that would be great

You missed out on the deal on the G510. Lenovo had that model on sale up until the 11th for $569.
Yeah, I realized that. Fortunately, I ordered a Y40-80 that night before midnight (before registering on this forum)… but from your guys' responses, I kinda want to change my order to a G510 haha
I'm hoping Lenovo will have a President's Day sale to give my mom more reasons to let me change my order
Honestly I wouldn't change it at this point. They'll have similar performance in Dolphin but In other Games the Y40-80 will blow away the G510
I agree for gaming the y40-80 will be much better, and I hate to say this, but there is more things to pc gaming than just dolphin.
Edit: grammar
I agree with DatKid, performance in dolphin might be a little slower but everything else is better. If you are stuck with it for 4-5 years the Y40-80 is a better choice. The screen resolution is higher (1920x1080 vs 1366x768), it has a dedicated graphics-card, it supports more modern wifi standards and is has a more compact formfactor. Especially with the recent speedups in dolphin and your main game beeing smash bros, you should be fine. Thermal throtteling could be an issue though, you should simply test it.
What a waste of money you did there . You can get i7 4710QM + GTX 860M for additional 100$ if you buy Sager gaming laptop
Not to mention Sager has aftermarket cooling solution and better build quality
that makes sense , the i7 5500u cost more than $1000 on amazon.com
