Yes, this is possible. Create a new text file in the folder with Dolphin.exe and name it "portable". If Dolphin detects a "portable.txt" in the folder, it will save everything right there instead of the default folder in your user directory.
Wow awesome thanks!
Okay i downloaded your build, enabled vbeam speedhack and the patch AND IT WORKS!!! normal audio even in cutscenes, i can enter through the rainbow portals and ITS IN 60 fps!!!! this is so amazing, is the game fully completable in this version with these settings??
You guys are geniuses, thank you so much!

1) Use this build
2) Add the necessary patch (dword type; 804167B8 for the offset; 3F600000 for the value)
3) Enable the VBeam speed hack

The game is much smoother at 60 FPS, and it's quite the looker when paired with 2560x1440 and 4xSSAA! Enjoy!

Also, for note, this build is not intended for use in other games! Using this for games outside of Super Mario Sunshine with the 60 FPS hack would not yield a pleasant gameplay experience.

I have an a error extracting that file

!   C:\Users\Alex\Desktop\Dolphin Mario Sunshine\Dolphin60.zip: Unknown method in cpack_package_description.txt

^ it says that with all files

Unzip it with 7zip, not the Windows Package Extractor.

For some reason the patch isn't working. I've applied the correct offset and value but turning the patch on and off seems to make no difference. I also tried applying it in Dolphin.ini but that isn't working either. I have cheats and vbeam enabled. Anyone else run into this?
Make sure you're running a good ISO.

This is great! Thanks!

I never got around to playing Mario Sunshine, and the higher framerate helps a lot with the controls.

Is anyone else having issues where it starts reporting that the memory card is the wrong region? I'm 15 stars in, and I've had to create a new memory card file twice.
I did have that issue; I don't know how to fix it. I used savestates and just shrugged it off.
