Project M Player

Are there any news? From what I've seen, there are now possibilities to unlock higher framerates in games. I believe Super Mario Sunshine and Pikmin were featured on one of the Progress Reports in the Dolphin blog.

There's a 120fps code for Brawl. I guess it enables the 1/2 speed of training mode and custom brawl (which runs at 60fps at that half speed). Melee, however, runs at 30fps at 1/2 speed in training mode, so I think this approach wouldn't work.

The code for Brawl (USA version, and also Project M) is this:

04708D20 3F000000

The easiest way to run the game at 120fps with correct audio is with the Ishiiruka builds. There is a per game setting called "Double Video Rate Hack" there, whick automatically puts the frame limiter at 120fps and corrects the audio.

Interesting. But 'Ishiiruka builds'? Of Dolphin? I don't really like handling several different builds, but would do it if there's no other way. Will it someday be incorporated in the official main builds?

It's not like I'm in a hurry regarding this. I'm an active Smash player and currently playing the new SSB, which is also a lot of fun.

I'm all for this great initiative outlined in the OP but quick question: why would widescreen be needed since Melee is a 4:3 game? The same can be asked of HD as Melee is an SD 480p game.
Bumper cars crash straight into the thread!
Does anyone wants to test a PR which may reduce the audio latency by an additional 20ms? https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/pull/3200
Just decrease the new ini option "TimingVariance".
...bump.
@Braok: No need to bump an old thread *without* any new content. This here is no TODO list.
