Hey there Dolphin community,
I know that I'm going to be super embarrassed by the outcome of this post, but I'm really desperate right now.
I tried to run the newer dev builds to try out the new Xenoblade Chronicles HD Texture pack. Unfortunately I only get a crash when trying to start any of the newer revisions. The stable version runs just fine. I tried several things like starting as admin or compatibility modes.
Now I'm asking you guys for help, because I'm lost. Do I have to install it in a special way or compile it beforehand?
Exception Info (4.0-5328):

Yeah, got it from there.
Tried almost every build from 4.0-5234 and some older ones, too. Reinstalled the redists, updated my drivers... still nothing.
I have also had my share of problems with newer builds, and as you say the stable release works just fine.
I don't quite know what the problem is because some report everything works just fine for them. Seems it could be anything at this point because I too have installed everything but it won't just work satisfyingly.
Anyway, have you tried any of Tinos Ishiiruka builds?

Kedishen: Get a coredump and I'll throw shuffle2 at it. When Dolphin crashes and the "Dolphin has stopped working" window is up, open task manager, find Dolphin's exe in the processes, and get a coredump. ONLY do this with master builds though; as we won't have the symbol server for any custom/unsupported builds.
I too am having this problem, except for me it's everything after 4.0-4000 that doesn't work. I looked in to it and at first it seemed that I just had too many .iso/.wbfs/etc files all over my computer, so I put them all in one neat place, and while that certainly sped up Dolphin's start-up, it didn't really do anything else.
I downloaded the latest revision to my laptop and it was fine (however, I couldn't test it, as I have no games on there - I just wanted to see if it would run).
I'm thinking what I need to do is COMPLETELY remove anything and everything related to Dolphin and install it as if it was never on my system in the first place! It's just that I don't know what else to do beyond simply deleting the files I've downloaded, and un-installing the stable version. I get the feeling that it's ties to my computer run deeper than that.
@JMC47:
Here is the dump.
@Duke Nukem: Tried one of the Ishiiruka builds, but with the same result.

Downloaded 4.0-5347 and I thought today I'd just be patient ... really, REEEAAALLY, patient ... and EVENTUALLY it worked ... until I hit "refresh", when it crashed again, but then I thought "Hang on ... I'll just be patient again". It EVENTUALLY came good again, and I changed the paths where it was looking for games to my newly arranged folder where all of the games are stored neatly (Wii subfolder, GameCube subfolder, Wad subfolder) and now ... after having been very, VERY patient ... it works fine.
Hopefully all future builds will work fine too.

Can you try running in borderless window mode and see if it helps?
Most of these "crashes on startup" lately seem to be related to libusb.
