Also, that PC is a beast. OC that CPU and it will blow you away.

Frame Limit is currently set at Auto from the config menu. I noticed the frames go wonky when exiting full screen and the game goes to like 180 fps with emulation at 300%. That's too fast to play a game lol. And OCing the CPU is something i will definitely consider later.
Set it to 60, see if that helps.

Had to get off the PC unfortunately. I'll set it to 60 when I wake up and see how it runs. Thanks for your help though
It should. My assumption is that your PC is TOO fast and beasting through calculations faster than it needs to, resulting in the game being sped up. By limiting it to 60, it won't go any faster than the game is supposed to.

Someone else feel free to correct me if I'm wrong or only partially right.
Hi, I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I have a i7 3770k @ 4.4 stable (tried to put at 4.5 today, testing as we speak) with gtx 680 lightning 2gb (so slight oc) sli (I know sli doesn't work, or at least with custom bits, no performance gain) and 16 gb ddr3 1800 9-9-9-27 ram on a samsung 830 ssd (with os on it too, unfortunately).

Is upping the IR, more cpu dependent or gpu? Im curious because specs considered the OP's 4960k should preform faster at a calculation level, but I should be able to overclock to match performance at some level right? Since no hyperthreading and you can only use so many cores.
OP's gpu is definitely better, but I can and am willing to OC gpu and cpu more with the benefit is tangible and within reach. I like tinkering.

I didn't know you could go beyond IR x4 and curious if I should try it, if I have the performance to spare.
Haswell has around a 40% speed boost in Dolphin clock for clock over Ivy bridge (3rd gen). So a 4th gen i3 at 3.4 GHz will perform better than an i5/i7 3rd gen at 4.2 GHz (or maybe 4.4, I don't remember the exact number).
So unless you have the best water cooling and mad overclocking skills, you can't match Haswell performance.

Increasing IR stress the GPU a lot more, but the GPU thread on the CPU also has to do some more work. You should be totally fine with past 4x IR with your setup though.
I didn't know haswell has that much of a gap! I mean I get butthurt over reading about tech newer than mine (envious?) so sorry for my ignorance lol

I do have water cooling, but only light OC experience. I seem to struggle maintaining a consistent 30 fps on the 3 games I have tried so far (at 4x IR) but to be fair its the last story, skyward sword and xenoblade with the texture pack. Sorry for asking questions all over the place. I'm trying to understand what I cannot google lol.

The benchmark differences aren't as drastic in other applications, there's just something about Haswell architecture that benefits Dolphin very well over Ivy. I wasn't totally aware of this either until recently so don't feel bad :p
Yeah, I just need to learn how computers work from beginning to end so I don't have as many misconceptions. I don't understand coding to any degree, so hardware specs are the only thing I understand as of now lol.
Everyone needs a starting point Smile
