There's only 4.0, 4.0.1m and 4.0.2, and then the dev builds.

Try one of the dev builds in like the 2000 region

Yeah I was using the dev build 4.0-5 something my bad haha, but why does it seem like the older builds of Dolphin run .iso s better than more recent?

Newer changes may have unearthed bugs that were passed over. I personally have no issues with freezing or hangs on the latest build

Alright, sorry about the wait. I tried it on 2999, but the game was very choppy, noise, characters, movement, you name it. It got even more so once the professor opened the gate, will older versions be more likely to run smoother?

Newer builds are usually smoother, but an older version may get you past the freeze of the professor, then you can save past it.

So if I get to freeze parts I just have to switch to an older build to get past that part?

Yeah. When I have the time I'll try to bisect the builds and see when that initial screen freeze and the professor freeze come from (if I can get the professor freeze to happen)

You could always try bisecting to find the bad build if you wanted/have free time.

I feel like the fact I'm using a mid 2009 MacBook Pro with 10.10 could also be causing some problems
