If the Nunchuck works perfectly fin in Hybrid mode then I don't think it's faulty...Then again it would be best to try it our with official controllers and rule that option out
It should say Nintendo on the bottom of the battery cover of its a real one.

Well the Nunchuck doesn't work in hybrid mode, I fake the keyboard as the Nunchuck in hybrid mode.

Yeah, the oval is there on the battery cover but it doesn't actually say Nintendo so I presume it's not an official Wiimote. That said I don't actually know of anyone that HAS an official Wiimote.
Maybe it's the Nunchuck then, I'd advise you to try with another one
I would, but I don't have one.
It also doesn't explain why the Wiimote can't be used as an IR pointer in hybrid mode.
