I dump my games from their disc because i have homebrew for wii. So my gc console broke last year and a couple months ago i dumped the bios. Not illegally because creating backups isnt illegal. Now i dont know how to set it up. Suggestions?
IF it's a USA GameCube, but the IPL.bin in the USA folder in C:\Users\<user>\Documents\Dolphin Emulator\GC. Then under Options in Dolphin, under GC, uncheck Skip GC bios.
But unless you just want it for fun, there's no need for the GC bios to run games. (expect for maybe like an extreme case where a game does need it, but I can't think of any)
Thanks ill try it when i get home
So I gotta ask, what reason do you have for the BIOS?
It's not a BIOS (Basic Input/Output System), it's an IPL (Integrated Program Loader).

Action Replay for GC and Advance Game Port won't boot without an IPL dump. Gameboy Player may need it too but at the moment there's no way to test in Dolphin...

I'm not sure I totally understand the difference, but ok

So why in Dolphin do we have it called a bios when we save it as an IPL.bin?

i tried to do what you said but i couldnt find any <users> directory which made the operation flop. im using windows 8.1 if that makes a difference. i also went into the files the dolphin came with and i click Sys then i clicked GC then it came up all of the bin files so i put the ipl in there but it didnt work so i dont think i goes there.
<user> can be anything, generally it's your name...
