There's nothing wrong with the PSU that was picked, 600W is more than enough power and that specific model gets good ratings on both Newegg and Amazon, better ratings than the EVGA you linked to.

There's no such thing as "overkill" when it comes to cooling an OC'd CPU, and they already said that they wanted to OC it pretty high.

Why do people insist on rudely telling other people what to do with their money instead of offering suggestions and information to back up their suggestion?

Your i5 isn't that much more powerful for Dolphin, not when you consider that it costs literally 3 times as much. $200 wouldn't get you the kind of power this build has unless you buy nothing but used or refurbished parts. Some people prefer to buy new from reputable retailers.

My cpu, power supply, and mother board are all brand new. I got reciepts for them if you wanna see. Only the graphics card is used. $170 dollars for a 290 is way better than $350 for a brand new at the time. Not including the graphics card all those new parts only cost me a little over $300. Would you rather spend $600 for a pentium or $600 for i5? I just overclocked to 4.3 and I'm at 47 degrees playing dolphin for the past hour on air cooling. If you guys like the pentium then so be it But i'll take the i5 all day. I'm not trashing the pentium. I never said it wasn't good. I just wouldn't pay for that when you can get the i5 setup for the same price. I wanted to step in when he said for around $600 and all he was gonna end up with is a dual core.
i5 4690k 179.99, 600 watt bronze evga power supply 59.99. mother board 89.99. You guys do the math.

I didn't want to start any arguments. I do appreciate all the advice from everyone. I guess I like to err on the side of caution and that's why I'm buying the Corsair H80i which ads to the system. I'm just really paranoid about OC'ing. Yes, I'm paying the same amount as you did (when you factor in your video card). But I'm also buying more memory and a case. Maybe I'll regret buying the g3258. However, since I'm going for a liquid cooler regardless I'll take the cheaper processor.
If you want to save money, drop the h80i and buy a cx430 power supply. (I ran 2 660s in SLI with my cx430) But like others have said, your build is good. In the future you can swap the processor to the newest baddest i7 broad well chip that is yet to be released without upgrading anything else.

What your build price is lacking is patience, if you wait for microcenter to re-stock you can save over $100.

G3258 + MSI board = 100
Cx430 = 35
Evga 660 = 120
8gb Memory = 75
Case = 50

Total = 380 +/-

But if you wait too long you may realize your money is better saved for more important things in life.....
A CX430 only has the one PCIe power connector, doesn't it? I only put one in my brother's machine 8 days ago. I know the next model up does, though.
I never meant to to offend anyone sorry, but I feel that with the prices of modern psus you could get a far better deal for 70 usd. Then again I am a bit paranoid when it comes to power as my home is on the end of a power line and frequently experiences power loss, high, and low voltage. With that said I originally started out with a somewhat sub par psu for my rig and found that the model was not too reliable. That being said the cx series is not that bad save for efficiency, and since power where I live frequently goes above .30 USD per kw, efficiency of my psu is very important (ironic I run 2 290x's though, but I have a bit of a grudge against nvidia). I may have over reacted a bit, but I just wanted the best value for the money to be had, also if you want to overkill on any component psu is my first choice. I do agree that g1 unit was not my first choice(I originally selected it thinking it was g2 variant). The best oems in my eyes are probably seasonic then superflower, this does not meant that specific models can be present from other oems that surpass expectations.) But, anyway h80i is fine for going on the side of caution with the silicon lottery because haswell is a different overclocker than ivy when it comes to stability, I just wanted you to know that it was not necessary to spent that much money on an h80i to overclock your g3258 to ~ 4.5. And that unless you bomb the silicon lottery a 212 evo (or decently priced competitor) should help you overclock decently good. If you are just playing dolphin and other emulators I do not think you will regret the pentium, as it is pretty decent for its price, it just is not too good at multi-thread optimized work loads versus i5 or an i7.

Side note: I personally would not trust a cx 430 with a 660 little alone with a 660 sli. (I just like to go on the side of caution for psus.)

Current rig I have yet to put in signature is
4790k @ 4.5-4.7 depending on the voltage I feel like running it at, but it is rock solid at 4.5
2 290x's @ 1100/1350 - 1200/1450 again depending on the game I am playing.
8gb ddr3 1600mhz dual channel ram
Evga Supernova G2 1000w (I was planning on getting the seasonic x1050w when it was on sale but it went oos before I could get one)

With the way I have the cooling set up everything stays fairly silent and cools good below 65 degrees C for every component.

I originally bought my first computer at my local electronics store (no micro center near by) and did not get exactly what I want and paid more than I should have for what I got, I just also would like to emphasize that unless you have special reasons from buying from a store (coupons, credit, etc...) it is often cheaper to buy online, and you can get more of what you want, but that said I do understand wanting to buy it from a store.

Someone please correct me if I said something incorrect about what someone posted.
I just used the molex to 6-pin adapter on my cx 430 to SLI. Kornhole is not looking to SLI anyway, I just suggested the power supply because it is cheap and obviously underrated.

I'm not even going to bother pointing out the flaws in this post because you clearly can't read properly, like to exaggerate and don't have as much of an understanding about hardware as you think you do, especially compared to the people here who regularly suggest builds.

Don't want to spend $600 bucks on a dual core liquid cooled rig? Good for you, then don't.
But no-one wants to. It's possible to think you want to, but it's never a good idea.

So, I was off work today as MLK day is a holiday where I work. I called Microcenter and they got the MB in stock this morning (32 of them). So I rushed off and picked one up. While I was there I picked up almost all my other components as well. I decided to hold off on the H80i since EVERYONE told me it wasn't necessary. If it turns out not to be true I can add it later (and sue everyone here ;-)) So, this is what everything will come out to AFTER rebates (I better make sure I send 'em in):

g3258/z97 MB - $90
EVGA 600W PSU - $45
EVGA GTX 660 - $120
Case (w/four fans) - $40
Memory (haven't bought yet) - $51
Total - $346 + Tax

I have a hard drive and DVD drive so I didn't include those. So, now I feel this is a pretty good price for a system to play games via Dolphin. The Cooler Master EVO 212 is too tall for my case. If I use the stock cooler what do you think I can OC it to? I don't know what the recommended settings for Dolphin are as far as OC'ing. Now I just have to assemble everything without !@#$ing it up.
