hey thanks a lot folks ^_^

well then.. juuust out of curiosity.. why wouldn't an updater be included ?

emulator's been out a good long while.. it may only be my opinion but I'd think that would benefit everybody..

less bug reports from people on old builds.. convenience for all..

I'd assume it's a simple matter of most people not caring about manually updating.. /shrug

& I can understand the idea that at times.. manual updates are actually required when significant enough changes are rolled out..

Probably because no one wants to build/maintain the code for an updater. Also, an auto-update is pretty trivial if you're good with scripting, regardless of your OS, so it could be that no one feels it's a particularly pressing need. The developers themselves just update their code and compile it (or have Dolphin's build-bot do that) so an auto-update is more user-focused, and possibly only for a niche of users. So yeah, a simply matter of not caring :p

If someone stepped up to contribute the code, you'd probably see this feature eventually. Currently, the devs have other interests/priorities. Not to say it'll never happen, but it's not happening right this moment.
Also another point that was brought up was the issue of when a pull request breaks something, you don't want to auto update until they fix it. So a manual update button would probably be better.
