Shaved of more than a minute compared to the i5-2500 in first post.

You need to lock the app on the real cores of your CPU (if there are "real cores" on AMD). You'll get a good speed bump.

For example my i3 as hyperthreading is turned on, load is split between the 2 real cores and 2 logical cores. I do the bench in 7min 30.

When i set the affinity of dolphin on the 2 real cores, i complete the bench in less than 5 minutes.

Here's my result with the benchmark. Seems to land pretty much where expected. (Don't mind the yellow text in the upper left corner. It's my Afterburner overlay.)

CPU: i5 4690 @ 3.50Ghz (stock)
GPU: GTX 970
RAM: 8GB

BTW This is my first post on the forums. Nice to be here at last.

Hmm... some of you guys have processors that are clearly more powerful than mine but your scores are lacking. Have you checked to see if Core-Parking is turned OFF on your PC? Also, download CPU-Z and under the memory tab, check your RAM timings (mine are 9-9-9-24-128-2T) and northbridge Frequency. If your CPU is running 4.2ghz, your NB should be at 4,200mhz.

And if anyone is curious about why my CPU runs so cool on air, this is what I did. (the hammer method)

Hello.  I have an Intel Core i5-2500K desktop, an Intel Core i7-4720HQ laptop, and an AMD A10-7850K HTPC.  Given that the Intel machines are very well represented in this thread already and the dearth of results from AMD-based machines, I thought I'd register to share the result I obtained with my AMD machine.

Images are included for more details, but to sum it up:

Relevant machine specs
  • AMD A10-7850K @ 3.9 GHz base, 4.0 GHz turbo (this is a 200 MHz overclock to the base frequencies)
  • 8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 2133 MT/s (CL10, I think?)
  • Integrated graphics core clock 800 MHz, up from 720 MHz.  I understand this should have no impact on the benchmark results.
  • Windows 10 x64

Results
  • Parse time:  3 seconds
  • Photon time:  1 minute 16 seconds
  • Render time:  7 minutes 4 seconds
  • Total time:  8 minutes 23 seconds

The machine just barely makes it into the C range.  Compared to the other AMD results here, it would seem that there are tangible improvements in Steamroller over Piledriver, at least for Dolphin.

The results were obtained after a fresh boot, though I allowed the machine to idle only a few minutes before running the benchmark. With that being said, I wouldn't expect the result to change too much one way or another.

anyone

Ok, so i bought a Skylake machine mainly for dolphin. Ran the benchmarks 5 Times unfortunately made the screenshot with the worst result but it's only 2 seconds worse than the best so doesn't matter that much. Smile

Machine specs

Intel 6700K @ 4.5 GHz
16 GB DDR4 RAM @ 2133 MT/s (CL13, DDR3 would be better timed but didn't get a DD3 Board)
Windows 10 x64

Results

Parse time: 2 seconds
Photon time: 34 seconds
Render time: 3 minutes 19 seconds
Total time: 3 minutes 55 seconds

Machine should be fast enough for any game. Maybe I'll go back to standard clock (4.0 / 4.2 Turbo should be enough too I think).
