actually seekbar could work but the way the overclock and underclock works needs to be changed to use integers. the tweaking isn't that complex. but the number shown on the seek bar needs to be tweaked to be 1.000 + int/100. int value should be going from -100 to 100. 1.000 + int/100 would have to also be placed into the overclock code too and the .ini would have to save stuff into int instead.
Everythingportable we need to add somes informations about performance.
Paper Mario Nvidia Shield Tablet o/c=0.25 80-100% speed(before 33-50% speed)
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 Nvidia Shield Tablet o/c=0.25 90-100% speed (before 50%-70% speed)
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4 Nvidia Shield Tablet o/c=0.25 95%-100% speed(minors graphicals glitchs)(before 50%-70% speed)
Super Smash Bros Melee Nexus 9 o/c=2.0 ?%-?% / Nvidia Shield Tablet o/c=0.20 80-90% speed (with frameskip)
Sonic Riders Nvidia Shield tablet o/c=2.0 80%-100% (before 75%-95% speed)
Metroid Prime Nvidia Shield tablet / 0.25/0.5 50% speed(33% before)
Starfox Assault Nvidia Shield Shield tablet o/c 0.25 ?%-?%
Three games can now be playable with one fix. And that's not the end

Now this is sick, Xenoblade running 90-100% with 0.25 on Nexus 9!

Nexus 9 really need desktop OpenGL. THPS4 run bad compared to the Shield Tablet. Anyway the improvement is huge.

What i was planning on doing was a seekbar with a max value of 100, default 50. I would take the output int and divide it by 50 in a float so the max would really be 2 and default would be 1. I used the same sort of trick for the seekbar used to adjust the on-screen control size, however that setting wasn't a core setting, so it didnt need to write to the ini. I dont really like how seekbars work. Using an integer for the value and being able to set a max value but not a min value... It really complicates things. Usually it's not that big of an issue though, and it can just be worked around with some extra math. I might just go back to my idea of making a custom seekbarpreference that does the math itself and outputs a string.
i support you on this addition cause it would solve the need to go into the config constantly to change it.
New to this forum, but I have been following this thread closely, very exciting!

No Micro SD so have to do it one at a time till my 128 GB card arrives!
Baten Kaitos Origins is 80-90% so far, world map graphic glitches, close to full speed outside of cutscenes
Fire Emblem: Path of Raidance is about 66-75%, graphics glitches during cutscenes
Eternal Darkness cannot get to launch
tested gundam vs z gundam runs without graphical glitches as for how the OC effects it. does nothing to improve any performance. the game runs fine could use some other speed hacks.
gundam vs z gundam - overclock = off. same can be said for custom robo - overclock = off.
robotech: battlecry
without OC:
city battles suffer lag issues. sky battles run perfectly in speed.
exiting cutscenes suffer a short lag spike.
with OC 0.25:
improves city battles. makes it fully playable.
robotech: battlecry (shield tablet/0.25)
