Unfortunately for me wven that doesnt work... I just get a flashy black screen and nothing displays at best or sometimes it just drops into windowed mode. Maybe I am having a different issue? My one problem that I cant get round is what the heck could be keeping Dolphin from entering exclusive mode? I cant think of any one thing I am running that could do that. I will do some experimenting and post my results here.

For now, try enabling the "borderless fullscreen" option in the advanced graphics settings. It's sub-optimal but for me it gets fullscreen working reliably again, until whatever happened with https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/pull/1764/files gets sorted.

Ya, I had to use it but it makes the Cammel very disappoint... Sad
HAHA! Yes! That does fix it for DirectX. Thanks fkane!
Any news on a proper fix for this rather than enabling borderless? I'm currently leaving mine on the version before this issue.
I know what happened. Armada added in a check in order to prevent stupid video drivers/programs from causing Dolphin to softlock. It must be glitching out on the automatic fullscreen from that; I'll notify him. Thanks for your reports guys!

Hi, JMC47.

I am baffled by this one and have several questions.

Like other users, for me games fail to start in fullscreen mode most of the time, and instead go into windowed mode.  It sounds like the cause is understood but I'm wondering if the eventual fix will make the emulator engage exclusive fullscreen more robustly or if it will get smarter at switching to borderless window when XF is not available.  If the latter, then I would try and understand why my setup is not conducive to dolphin starting in XF mode.

Nevertheless, the baffling part is that for me when the game does engage XF, it runs significantly slower than borderless windowed.  I'm talking 33% slower in some cases (F-Zero GX, Sand Ocean - Lateral Shift stage).  I'm happy just sticking to borderless for now but I'm curious because XF was very anticipated and I'm wondering if I'm missing out by staying with borderless with my setup.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Looks like my changes to make Exclusive Fullscreen more reliable in edge cases had the opposite effect in on some setups. With no way for me to reproduce the problem this is going to be a difficult problem to fix.
Happy to help out with debugging if told what you need, I'm currently on the suggest version before the change but can switch back for testing.

As miegs3 mentioned below, I would be happy to perform any kind of testing you might need, if you decide to tackle this.

However, does exclusive fullscreen affect performance in any way for you?  It still confuses me that it makes performance worse for me.
