The intel i5 4250U dual core with HD Graphics 5000, this is the Nuc, can someone tell me what kind of performance I can expect from this?

It will only play the most lightweight games and a very few of the medium demanding games, as the CPU is an Ultra-low Voltage (ULV) processor, meaning it is clocked at low speeds and won't perform well in Dolphin.

Can I expect these BRIX to handle most games, what kind of frames would I get on those?

Way better than the U version.
You'll probably have to replace the thermal paste for something better, like Arctic Silver, but according to our Benchmark, it should perform similarly to the i5-4670K at stock speeds, which means it will play all but the most demanding games fullspeed.

I personally don't recommend those kinds of rigs at all if you plan on doing any long term gaming sessions. But if you enjoy running your hardware way too hot and them not lasting as long as a mid-tower build that has sufficient airflow and cooling, be my guest :v

Intel's response to the CPU temp running that high long term: "At this temperature, the warranty period for part replacement should remain valid and product life should be viable throughout that warranty period." As long as there is better thermal paste and adequate room around the box, there shouldn't be an issue with overheating. Running at stock will not produce a lot of excess heat that the Brix can't handle. Even at turbo speeds, it should be fine as long as it's not on for several days consecutively.
