Thanks AnyOldName3. If you think the extra ram is unnecessary, do you have any recommendations as to what else i can upgrade with the final $100?
Maybe even get a cheaper case and use that money to upgrade the gpu? I know to get from a 970 up to a 980 is like $200 so that might be out of my range with my remaining budget.
But still, getting a cheaper case to upgrade something is definitely an option.
Or should we just call it quits and be done with it.

i7 4790k turbo clock speed is 4.4GHz , no need to overclock . You will need to overclock i5 4690k to 4.4GHz if you want the same performance as i7 in Dolphin . However
_Overclocking will shorten lifespan of CPU and increase power consumption (you will pay more for power bill and higher wattage power supply)
_Even if you overclock the i5 4690k , no way in hell i5 will be as fast as an i7 . (4cores 4 threads vs 4cores 8threads) . In multi-tasking or video encoding , i7 will crush maximum overclock i5 . Keep in mind that recent PC games has started supporting multi-threaded CPU , i7 is future-proof
You could get a dirt-cheap board such as Asrock B85 Anniversary and 430-500W PSU from Seasonic if you chose i7 4790k . Stock Intel cooler is fine for that i7

Unless you can see into the Future that's far from true.
If you really want that I7 go for it. All I have to say is that unless you have a microcenter near you you won't get that discount.
Yeah we're definitely going for that i7. Yeah i have a Microcenter no more than 10 minutes away from me. I am very fortunate.
Mine is more like 20 minutes away. Nice. Well bro go for it.
Damn, you guys were here having fun without me =/
