yeah the rep system helped show who was a douche and who wasnt...

Those who complain about bad reps and give them, are those who killed the rep system in the first place.

Also, the rep should have been used to measure the level of contribution, not to see if that user was a 'douche'.

probably not your case, but most of -1's i've seen are due to the user getting annoyed/trolled and responding with insults + another -1.
